Brahmi or Thyme Leaved Gratiola is a common plant of moist and marshy places. Due to its occurrence in moist habitat it is also known as Jalbrahmi or Nirbrahmi. The plant is glabrous punctae, succulent herb. Leaves spathulate, fleshy, sessile, dark green in color. Flowers white, solitary, axillary longer than the leaves. Fruit ovoid, capsule.

THERAPEUTIC USE:

Plant is considered as nervine tonic, brain tonic, bitter, astringent cooling and diuretic. The plant particularly the leaves considered to be good to improve the memory and blood circulation. Saponins and Baccosides considered to be the active compound of the herb.
